Saxo VTR Background: During the late 90�s and early 2000�s in Citroen dealers across the land the smell of Lynx Africa hung heavy in the air. Throngs of boy racers were enticed like months to a flame towards the Saxo Vtr by a sub �10,000 list price and Free Insurance. In the post Cosworth and GTI era insurance for anything even remotely tepid was eye watering for young drivers but the Saxo VTR came with 2 years free insurance. This masterstroke from Citroen made the Saxo the UK�s bestselling Hot Hatch. However, hot hatches and an abundance of both hair gel and testosterone seldom make happy bedfellows and many VTR�s met their maker long before that insurance deal ended. Interior: The interior is absolutely as new and a fabulous place to reside with the Delta cloth sports seats and iconic white Jaeger dials separating this VTR from the cooking models. The seats, carpets, matts and trim are absolutely factory fresh even the metal gearknob is totally unmarked. It would be reasonable to surmise that the rear seats have potentially never been used, the seat backs are certainly free from scuffing and the lever is as new both in terms of feel and finish. Pleasingly the factory Audio is totally standard, no six by nines in the parcel shelf for Miss Godwin. On the Road: Perhaps unsparingly given the low miles and impeccable upkeep it drives with a time warp tautness you that you could only find with a low mileage perfectly maintained example. Whilst the VTR only has 100hp in facelift form it has a diminutive kerb weight of just 920kg giving a top speed of 120mph and 0-60 in a smidge over 9 seconds.
