Not been on FS for a while but am about half way into building the room for housing it in my cabin.

It’s 1.5 by 2m, walls are up, just cladding them, still got to insulate, wire, plasterboard, paint, carpet etc but another few weeks and should be done.

Bugger me timber and stuff is expensive !
We need pictures. biggrin
Sure !

This is my Zwift Bike setup next to it,

Will upload some of the inside but its not fitted out yet anyway, its a decent size space for what I need, got a roof window to go in as well.

Next is wiring, insultation, plasterboard, door lock etc. Need to also put the guttering on outside and replace all the shingles, and then paint it.

Mine is just bemused at the whole thing and expressing concerns as to reduced storage capacity for her many plastic storage boxes of craft stuff.

And the occasional query as to its purpose, implication of this being a plywood palace of self pleasure ! Rather a time consuming and expensive project for that.

I've just got back into this sim and have downloaded the New Zealand update and treated myself to the AN-225 and the DHC-4 Caribou!

I have now 3d printed all parts for my full Diamond DA62 cockpit. I just need to build the pedestal wire that and then wire it all up.

Saw a great thing someone else did which I am stealing. To add some realistic feel to the throttles I'm adding two strong magnets and a sheet of steel. Magents screwed to the throttle levers and will drag across the metal plate with a piece of leather between it for smoothness.

Still got a fair bit to do in the Garmin G1000 controls but should be able to use them as display only.

Bonus due, might go for a 49 inch widescreen, keep the 34 for instruments etc.

The joys of kids moving out !

All this talk is causing my pain. My PC is in pieces while being converted to water cooling. Have a minor issue to overcome...

My old department let me keep my screen from WFH. Need to wire it up as an instrument screen at some point, if I can find the room on my desk

I am hoping for a discount at some point in the next few weeks so might give it another go - what are peoples thoughts on it now we are a couple of years in?

When I tried at launch I found the physics very arcade like - have they been improved?

It's superb.... I was in the Alpha and Beta and it really put me off. I had nothing good to say about it. I now pretty much exclusively fly the PMDG 737-800 / 600.

Uninstalled P3D and couldn't go back.

Stick Gamepass on for a month to try it out.

Have they sorted IFR nav out yet? I seem to remember that was distinctly lacking in the early days.

In what way?

I’d say it’s fine for practicing approach procedures once you have the basic aircraft handling nailed and can fly the numbers

On the other hand, setting nav frequencies by twiddling virtual knobs always feels fiddly - unless someone knows a quick way to type in frequencies?

If you mean the aircraft that come with the sim I cant say although the A310 seems to be well thought of I may give it a go tonight !
