This post has been a long time coming - I've finally completed a VFR round-the-world trip in a Cessna 152!

This started when the game was launched during lockdown, and it took two and a half years to complete, so I need another project!

Here's the route I took:

Here is a folder of screenshots of all the airports, POIs and scenery I encountered along the way:
Folder

Summary:
- Objective was to minimise nav aids, instead using view from window, wind data, E6B, stopwatch, and Google Maps (this was the whole point - to see sights);

- Max nav aid capability was limited to NDB/VOR/ILS if available/necessary;

- Weather was always live;

- Time of day was live (except in arctic circle in winter);

- About 40-50k miles travelled;

- 2 years, 4 months, 9 days comprised of mostly <1hr flights, a few times per week;

- 405-410 airports visited;

- Longest leg 4hr/390mi over the Greenland Ice Sheet, using 3/4 of a tank;

- 920 screenshots;

- Five deaths (mostly due to flying in any weather);

- One forced landing (fuel miscalculation);

- One worn out joystick;

- Most difficult flight - Leh-Manali highway (following highway along valley floor up to 17500ft, surrounded by >20k ft peaks);

- Worst weather - Reyjkavik;

- Highest density altitude 19000ft (unrealistic) when following the Leh-Manali highway;

- Least impressive views: Tundra, Kansas, European plain, lowland China;

- Most impressive views:
Utah and Arizona-

Isafjordur (Iceland)-

Hong Kong-

Los Angeles (blown away by size)-

- Most interesting POIs:
Sedan crater-

Fukushima-

Manzanar Japanese internment camp, California-
I wish I had the hardware to get lost in the Sim like this.

As a long-time PA28 owner, I'm enjoying the new (?) Carenado PA28 Archer II. Realistic interior and decent sounds. I prefer it to the default C172 for a quick VFR bimble. Not that cheap, but I'm sure it will be on sale at some point

Yeah it needs some tweaking but I’m happy with the purchase it used to take me a couple of days to install AIG and I just couldn’t be arsed anymore.

Did a test flight from EGNX to EGPH today in the 737-800 using Fs2Crew for first time it was great not to have to do it all myself for a change !

Having looked at FS2Crew, does that make the flight a lot better?

Better ? I suppose it’s more realistic as you would not normally fly a 737 single crew. I think when you are at a stage where’re you are comfortable operating by yourself it’s a great add on.

I’ll use it a lot but I’ll still fly single crew as well as I like to press all the buttons !

Cheers. Might get this, just need to decide between the 737 and the FBW Airbus

Both great addons although I’ve never really got on with Airbus. I did have the Aerosoft Airbus on P3D but always ended up with the 737.

Looks like many creators are not happy with Flightsim.to and attempting to pull their creations from the site.....

The guy who has developed the superb Global AI Ship Traffic has posted on AVSIM that Flightsim.to have refused to remove them.

He says it will no longer be updated and to download from other sources he has linked to.

I treated myself to a HOTAS over the weekend and currently in the process of mapping controls to it. I'm generally doing the ones which I mis-click when flying, especially if the aircraft is moving about a bit.

However, I can't find the altimeter adjustment to set the pressure to the local value in the settings pages. Any ideas what heading it's under? I want to either increase or decrease the pressure. All I can find is to set it to MSL.

Isn't that "B"?

B resets it to 29.92 I think. I want to twiddle with my knob. boxedin

I can turn it by clicking next to the altimeter, but I can't find a key command to replicate it elsewhere.

A google search suggests Kollsman Altitude inc/dec does the trick, but that doesn't work.

Problem I have is I generally find myself in the Cirrus SR22 and trying to click the correct element on the screen usually causes me to adjust the course rather than the air pressure.

Not been on FS for a while but am about half way into building the room for housing it in my cabin.

It’s 1.5 by 2m, walls are up, just cladding them, still got to insulate, wire, plasterboard, paint, carpet etc but another few weeks and should be done.

Bugger me timber and stuff is expensive !

Yes, I think it's something to do with controls for mult engine planes, but I may have mis-remembered that
