Despite its recent rapid decline in the quality of its candidates, the viewing figures have remained fairly constant. I guess that means that even if they nosedive this year, we will still be enduring another series next year.

I work (have a client) in the online sweets space, I know all the decent players so I’m intrigued.

He's great! And the interview round is always the best bit. The rest of it is rubbish now. Alan's jokes are just as bad as the candidates they find.

I like Claude but he's become a parody of himself.

Claude : So, talk me through your business plan...

Shinysuited Idiot : Well, I'm hoping to use the £250k....

Claude: DON'T YOU FACKING DARE TO SIT THERE AND TELL ME WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO OR I'M GOING TO REACH OVER, RIP OUT YOUR SPLEEN AND POST IT TO YOUR MUM AND DAD'S HOUSE YOU STINKY LITTLE RATFACE

I won’t be watching as yes they now seem to have completely accepted that it’s just for wannabe z listers who have already tried every other reality programme going. How can they (beeb) think that’s wise? Tossers

That is not the same as the early series where they were definitely real people who had half an idea.

Shame.

Its a comedy and i love it. I suppose its designed to make normal people think 'who the fk are these idiots, aren't they meant to be the best' while you sit there in disbelief while they make mistakes only a child would make.

Quite often their 'business' isn't one, its just a registered name with zero turnover and no profit or its got an incredibly low turnover with minuscule profit and of course they yap on about how successful they have been.

Its ridiculous.

But i do love it hehe

In contrast to the first series where most of them did appear to be business men & women, it's now transcended into insta celeb wannabes.

The rubbish they spout in the cab after they've been kicked off is always the same thing, they're probably told to say it, none of them are ever really heard of again, not even most of the winners!

Not a lot of eye candy this year is there!

I've always watched it and I am sure I will watch again.

Has anyone ever gone on to actually do well out of it. Multi millionaire type status with a big Surrey / Cheshire house, fleet of cars the trappings of wealth type thing?

Joseph Valente lost it all and went bust iirc.

Did the Aussie climbonline do quite well? What about Tom Pellerau.

Stuart Baggs really was quite unforgettable.

I don't think the £250k in this day and age is really all that great.

I think someone on the OneShow yesterday said that Sugar claims about 5 of the people who had won, 'he had made millionaires'.
Not much chat to support that claim.

Possible, the aussie (Ricky Martin???), Tom Pellerau and Dr Leah keep cropping up on the show as past winners, possibly a couple of others I can't remember. On paper, at least on a good day, they could be millionaires.

Remember when a PHer was on it?

Just had to google a press release, see if you can spot him ...

Samuel Judah
He says: "I'm not there to entertain people, I don't give a sh*t about that. For me it's about business."

Syed Ahmed
He says: "I've been a sort of hell-raiser over the past ten years and I think all that combined together has made me a business bad boy."

Tuan Le
He says: "I'm a short, bald Vietnamese guy that drives a Ferrari who's lived in a small seaside town all of my life."

Yep, GI Jr. IIRC. I used to play XBox online with him and he seems like a nice guy. Totally unsuitable for The Apprentice hehe

I think, back then, the candidates weren't as ridiculous. They seemed ( for want of a better word) a lot more normal. However with every series they seem to have chosen "Characters" more than genuine "Business Apprentices".

I think that might be because of the change in format; LAS doesnt want 12 potential apprentices, he wants 3/4 possible investment ideas, the rest of them are Reality TV fodder
