I know all that - I'm Trade

I also know that when I checked a bike it showed as a FAIL on HPi yet not recorded, the reason given was "Sold at salvage auction" it meant I couldn't sell it as HPI clear so had to reduce the price
More importantly, we missed your 25,000th post on your 250th month.

If your on facebook you may wish to have a look at the "copart victims" group.

Its full of people like yourself who think they can save a few quid buying a written off car to do up and then realise why no-one else had purchased it previpusly!
Seems to be full of absolute thickos that use the terms "would of", "should of" and "could of" very frequently.

Car shows 2 errors in the visual inspection, open bonnet and flat tyre. However there's a critical error warning light on the dash. I've asked them to plug in an odb and get the fault codes and they are looking into it!

For clarification my nephew did not bid 20k, but I appreciate the wild accusations and insinuations!

Copart are a remarketing outfit... and as for all cars sold via a "salvage auction" then having a marker against them, even if they are clean, unrecorded vehicles... yeah I'm reasonably confident that's not the case.

As for the O.P..

What could possibly go wrong

Good luck.

Vcheck specifically advertise that they index salvage auctions - https://www.vcheck.uk/ - because some write-offs aren't showing up on HPI - https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/106336/excl...

How much would you like to bet ?

I've literally bought and sold such vehicles - it says they are NOT recorded but they DON'T get a pass certificate
