May already have been mentioned, but this thread from a while back was quite useful and resulted in us buying a 4 post lift

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

We can now stack the cars, which is very useful

Thanks for the post Mrs BlueCerbera, I recall reading that at the time but couldn't find it in the search tool. This is exactly the feedback I want to hear before I select a lift butt the link to the supplier plus most of the pics don't work and assume the supplier no longer exists?

Do you know if this is now the lift offered by SJR or is the supplier trading under a different name?

I really want a quality 4 post lift that doesn't need bolting down and is £2-3 k inc vat with a decent jacking beam.

Many Thanks

Following this thread with interest. Do the SJR 4 post lifts differ greatly from others as they appear cheaper. 'Discopotatoes' posted earlier re a group buy. An interesting thought.

The company in Netherlands(link below) which i bought from were excellent to deal with and they also adjusted the height and width to fit in my garage. It doesn't need fixing to the floor...providing the floor is level and comes with a roller kit for moving around. Delivered to the door and was easy to install.

Any news or development on the 'lifts' ?

Any thoughts about a 'group buy'.

Hi
Just had mine fitted which was supplied by SJR and was fitted by a garage equipment fitting company. The fitter told me they are one if the best lifts they fit outside if the heavy duty commercial types which are five times as much.
Must say i am extremely pleased with the outcome, very well made bit of kit, very solid and smooth operation. sJR now do a short and narrow version which i choose as its perfect for my old Triumph and Chim. The Chim fits fine as its wider and the Triumph which is sat on it currently fits fine length ways as the longer of the two. Also leaves more of the garage free as i was concerned about space for parking next to it and getting in all of my normal garage rubbish wink
I went for the optional jacking beam as i just felt it was worth the extra for the convenience, that said i am hoping my Chim which is very low will go over it or i will be using a couple of short sections of timber on the runs when required.
The fitting chaps did a cracking job, very quick , by the time they had finished i would have just been on my third brew and review of the instructions. Well worth the extra cost as i am up and running quickly i didnt want the cars sat out in the weather as neither of them are what i consider that water proof !!
Cheers

Hi
I went for the Model 1 as it was smaller and fits perfectly for my two motors and leaves me more room in the garage
I replied to your message also

I just purchased a model 1 from SJR with install and it's a fantastic solution for my Tuscan and Tamora. The install guys were also first class

Not a 4 post however I have been looking for a 4 post however as we where not going to store another car underneath but just use it for working on the cars we have installed this from http://www.garageequipment.co.uk/
They did a fantastic job delivered and fitted well worth talking to them about 4 posters as well

The beauty with this one is its so compact 3 ton load so with a TVR it hardly knows its got a car on and great access all round for working on them.

How much space did you have at the back of the lift as the manuals they sent me say you need at least 6 foot of space from the end of the lift to the wall to Install. If your garage is 19 feet long that rather limits what can fit.

Hi Andrew,
I really like your scissor and started off wanting one but decided that with the stack option of the 4 post would make more use of my space. I do like the way your ones are individual and that they go to a nice height.

GC 450 - Thanks for all you advice and pictures, I have today ordered a SJR mod4 with jacking beam, just waiting the delivery date. As you said these are by far the most helpful supplier and returned all my calls and info requests unlike all of the other suppliers iwhich is so surprising.

Thanks again everyone for all your advice.

Thread Resurrection time.
I came across this as I'm researching a 4 poster for myself.

Did anyone follow up on a group buy?

Mr Nordic, have you any update on how your getting on with yours, whats the build quality like?

I'm looking at SJR Mod 1, 2, or 2S as I want something nice and narrow.

http://www.sjrgarageequipment.co.uk/4-post-lifts/

Or Automotech;

http://www.automotechservices.co.uk/products/4t36s...

or

http://www.automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-4t...

Would be interested to hear from anyone who's used or have one of these or something similar themselves.
I've ruled out Strongman mainly on price, but accept you get what you pay for.

Thanks in advance
