I think they're great, I wish I could have had them in my CGTS.
I agree that LWB not a nice seat find them very uncomfortable so do many others folding buckets much nicer and can spec. rear seats with this option. You should have specd in your CGts without them what's the point should have got a CS wink;)

Folding buckets sit too high in the cabin for me plus they look old - I don't like them.

you will notice a lot of people spec the older folding bucket this time round, that's for a reason ;-)

the full bucket is far too upright, even to a point 3rd party companies have made brackets to tilt it a bit, also with a helmet on the full bucket is a bit of a fail and not that nice, forcing your head forward !!!

it's a very poor design seat imo plus not as tight fitting low down as the folding bucket/

the folding Bucket is really a nice seat, more tilt, and now you can have it heated I have no idea why any one would spend more on the full bucket.
Also folding helps you put stuff in the back.

Full bucket is good for fat people or people under 5 foot as it has height adjust , but I think it's a poor design.

again this is only in my personal opinion, but the flippers will spec the 918 style the keepers the folding lol (this is a joke btw)

Is this why you went for LWBs in your Gt4 and I went for the folding buckets lol;)

Twinfan the folding buckets maybe an old design but the fact you can still spec. on a new car speaks volumes about the seat, IMHO best seat made by Porsche!

I went for pose value, did not know they would be st lol might buy a bracket for mine if I end up keeping it, I do like the height adjust so it sits lower than the folding. but future buys I would not spec them again.

No ducktail on 991.2....something to do with the Turbo's and the vents that are low down on the rear of the car.
It's to do with the ventilation/cooling for the turbo's as the spoiler also rises when the engine gets above a certain temp. There is not the same problem on the full Turbo as it has the side vents so they can have a spoiler - shame as I like thiem

Posted on the main thread but no one responded rolleyes

Do people think the T will handle any better than a standard Carrera? ie Will Porsche's boffins have played with the suspension settings for a different state of tune?

If so, may we have some expectation that Porsche (once agin) has created something that is greater than the sum of its parts? idea

Unlikely cos the marketing people would probably have mentioned it. Although it's not unknown for Porsche to improve things and not boast about it!

:
It has sports PASM which cannot be ordered on base model. I would have preferred a passive set up like the X73 of say the 981 spyder etc!

Quite a few option on the S though sus wise , plus I will take the extra power and bigger brakes. Turbo cars are very easy to use the power due to where the torque is.

If you read last week's Auto Express it presents this rather differently -

"Stars of the Future - no.73 - Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Pack....da de da de da.... featuring the existing GT3's rev-hungry 493 bhp naturally aspirated flat-six...most of the GT3's chassis tech, including rear wheel steering, is retained....Porsche will make as many GT3 Touring Packs as it can sell...."

I actually got quite excited about this. At last a 911 you would want to buy and can. Need to get on the phone to Oracle. But it seems I forgot, Porsche only sell that sort of stuff to Chris Harris. Instead we get palmed off with this poor tat. As far as I am concerned they can stick it along with their other farting wonders and all their reheated Touaregs. I am finished with the good doctor and will source my high performance cars elsewhere in future.

Have you checked your posture? They'll feel too upright if you are not used to a good seating position.

I wouldn't buy a sports car unless it had full bucket seats. If you want to optimise you driving position, there's only one way to sit - as low and upright as possible, close to the steering wheel and completely relaxed. that position will hold your body exactly where it needs to be and allow you to be fully relaxed. If you are not, you are doing something wrong. Driving position and posture is the first thing to get right if you are going to drive the car at speed. Rob Wilson is probably one of the very best racing instructors in the world. If he saw a driver tilted back in his seat and more than 18inches to 2 feet away from the wheel, he wouldn't even bother to get in the car 'if you don't even know how to sit in the bloody thing mate, you don't need me yet'..

sitting in a car for 1/2 a day is not like sitting on a chair for dinner.

the full bucket is to upright, it puts to much pressure on your pelvis and you tend to rock about on your pelvis, the seat also forces your head to look down esp if you have a helmet on !

The torso weight bears down on the spine and the seat pushes the base of the pelvis up, the pelvis becomes a lever bending the spine forwards and distorting it. The results are strained ligaments and compressed intervertebral discs. causing back issues.

people try and fix this on normal seats with lumbar support but a bad adjusted lumbar support will increased the disc pressure even more :-(

every one I know with lumbar adjust turns it up too much !!! worse thing you can do !!

you should have even pressure on your back when sitting in a car, the full buckets does not allow this, it's very close as the folding bucket does and looking with the naked eye they look the same.

this is nothing like sitting a on a chair for dinner as you tend to not rock about like you would in a car.
if there were no issue there would not be a company making brackets to tilt it .

Dull chronic backache is a killer in the service world and misadjusted seats is 3/4 of the issues when people are doing 40k miles PA.

in the full bucket you are like this which is an added issue for a GT car !!!

Can't agree. I'm 6 feet 2 and 15 stone and have been strapping myself into Bucket seats for years. If I have to sit in an adjustable bucket seat, it's adjusted to the same angle as a fixed bucket because it's the most comfortable.

Theres a reason why GT race seats are all basically the same shape. The driver must be held in the most comfortable and efficient driving position while he or she go about their work.

It may not be comfortable for you, but it is for the majority and certainly for drivers that do the job for a living.
