good on him he had a little fun and lived his GT3 ownership dream, like others have said id keep the car 100% for a year atleast as I think you wont lose much and wouldn't surprise me if values go up.

I’ve noticed the Ferrari and Lambo winners both took the cars, for me (if it ever happens) I would take the car whatever and run it for as long as I could afford to

I've just sat and worked out (yea, sad, I know on a Friday evening) that I've spent £758.38 via Dream Car Giveaways in the past 2 years and won sweet fa.

Well done, you've done well.
Some people will have spent 10 times that and won f*ck all.
That's 1 pound a day for a bit of fun, don't think you can buy a bag of crisps now for a pound ?

Couldn't agree more. The odds whilst much better than the lottery are still tiny. Buy a ticket, dream a bit and repeat.

I play across a few sites so probably spent double (or more) but on the other side I don’t have any hobbies at the moment and it’s a nice distraction from the crapness of life

This is the problem with these sites, and the false impression the give about how unlikely it is to win. This shouldn't be a surprise that you haven't won a £20k/£50k/£150k car for £758.38.

Statistically you're going to end up paying about 150% of the value for whatever you win.

You're paying for the excitement of having a (tiny slim price) of winning. That's what you're paying for. It's also the reason I would never buy more than one ticket.

I agree, it's a small bit of excitement, especially if you watch the live draws.

Escort Cosworth gone onto DCG last night, I expect that will be popular.

That Golf R on DCG - is the cash alternative very generous at £38K ?

A quick look and there seems to be a few 2021 cars around that price or cheaper ?

The DCG Golf R has some very expensive factory options such as full leather, performance pack and Akrapovic titanium exhaust amongst others

That would have been a low £50k car at new list price

Well look at it this way you are paying for the entertainment/dream and if you happen to actually win then great, it’s just a bit of fun, I suspect this is why they are so popular and caught this market perfectly

I only really enter the comps when there's a VW camper on offer. I would adore one of those. Would probably get more enjoyment out of that with the family then anything else there, considering we have already have family car and a 'fun' car.

Never blooming win though!

My colleague's old BMW X4 has been bought by a local competition outlet and offered as part of a car/caravan combo prize

This lot seem to have a good reputation up here in Scotland for their draws, and I know of a good few local winners of some big ticket prizes

Yeah, I think I saw it on STV as well, probably to publicise their house draw, or £400k cash alternative

Will be plenty of people doing the exact same thing. One of the reasons Ive stopped playing on 7days now, those instant wins are praying on people that might not necessarily have the disposable income to be dropping the amount on them that they do. Its a step too far imo.

He can’t even spell ‘instant’ FFS.

I totally agree, for an addict that’s bad news and it’s easy to see how someone could fall victim to gambling and run up thousands they don’t have
