I suppose when you look at the midfield we had of Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard and Beckham you can see why successive England managers wanted to pick them all but the above stat shows that you need something a bit more boring to avoid defeat.Shame we haven't got someone who can pick a pass like just one of them though.

If Kane has a long and healthy career, I can see him becoming an extremely good attacking midfielder/playmaker later on.

I'm no Man U fan, but Paul Scholes was probably the most underrated footballer in Europe.
