Odd, crude oil has dropped by more than 10% in the last week and the £:$ rate has been steady. Prices should drop by a few pence.
Oil price is for futures so you wouldn’t see any wholesale petrol price benefit till next month at the earliest

Quite but equally why would prices rise following a period of stability heading into a steep decline?

Different dates. Obviously a price decrease after the 15th
Nope, I was there a few weeks ago and it was definitely 10p difference then

ashleyman said:
Please go and take a photo. I have 100% seen them with a difference that’s not 7p per litre.
I'll take a photo next time I'm there - although it seems like you're agreeing with me above!
I am agreeing with you. Others seem to think it's always a 7p difference but I know I have seen otherwise. And it seems you have also.

Ah got it now, anyway, got a top-up there yesterday so here's the photo as promised :-)

Driving on my way to work this morning, all the petrol prices seemed to have been unchanged, was a pleasant surprise when I pulled up to the Sainsbury's near work in Watford and diesel was 162, down from 164. I was planning to use my Costco card to fuel up at lunch but I'm too lazy.

That's disappointing if not an error. It used to be, M99 was 5ppl more expensive than 95 RON and that was across all stores. Then a couple of pence variation set in, and was ultimately replaced by 7ppl increase for M99. Now it seems the creep is happening again.

Still miles cheaper than Shell, Texaco or Esso et al. for 99 RON so I'm not complaining too much. Shell and Texaco 99 RON are 158.9 and 160.9 local to me, so Tesco is still a veritable bargain in comparison. I filled up with M99 yesterday at 145.9, but even that is more expensive than the time before.

As I noted previously in my experience it use to be 7pp too but has been 9 or 10 when I’ve occasionally looked. Due to the winter lay off I’ve not bought any for a few months.

So that’s at least three of us that have noticed the change, clearly a theme!

Still 7ppl difference at all the Tesco within 10 miles of me (for now?).

Drove through Hawes today the little pump service petrol station was 138p for petrol and 156p for diesel I was surprised and shows how the big retailers are taking the mickey [My local BP is 10p per litre more)

The garage in Hawes is community owned & very proud of being competitive on price vs the supermarkets - we stayed near by in September & I filled up there given the price thumbup

Still in the 160s for petrol here, at least for 97 or 99, where am I going wrong?

Seems about normal here in the USA - I filled up for about $3 / gallon, or about 0.65 / Liter.

Wildly different pricing between stations though, not counting expensive highway ones - I've seen $3.45 today too (74p / L)

It's not just Tesco on the 10p price difference, Sainsburys are at it too.

Well I've just filled up at Roberts in grindley brook and for the first time in god knows how long petrol and diesel were the same price of £1.41 per litre.

It has been bouncing back and forth between 139.7 and 140.9 for unleaded at my local for what seems like months now. Is that the new floor for pricing, do we think?

At this point I would genuinely be surprised to see it go any lower, although these things are always at the mercy of events, I guess.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.
Petrol prices will never go back to what they were before (£1.35pl Diesel). Government knows that people will just be happy once it goes below £1.50pl and we'll accept it as normal. Only way it'll change is if people refuse to pay it which they won't. If everyone didn't go to work because they refused to pay the prices then the Government would do something about it. Until then we'll get shafted and prices will just go up again.

In fairness if I add 2 years of inflation at 10% to your £1.35 I get to today's price so there may soon be a point where if fuel prices start climbing again, then prices have gone back to "before", if inflation corrected.

Topped up today with Diesel at Sainsbury's for 152.9p, which seems to be price matching the Jet garage next door. When I saw the price on the Petrol Prices App I thought it was a typo as everywhere else in the area it's still around 160p.

I've noticed their price gap between petrol and diesel is always low. How come this is the case when other stations have around 20p difference between them? Are we just being ripped off for diesel?

I've been paying £1.37 for the last few months now, and the local Asda was £1.36 a few days ago.
