Have a look through Gumtree for an overload of terrible plates.
The price they are asking for some of them is mad.

Looks like a Monaro VXR. I'm guessing that the owner has fitted an import size number plate to it (smaller characters, hence the plod has his measuring card out). They have a small plate mounting surface, so look much better with an import size plate. Unfortunately, despite very limited numbers, they are an official UK supplied car, so can't legally run a plate with smaller characters. I'd put a smaller plate on mine if I could.

I can't see if the plate has the required markings on it which might be another issue, but either way, properly anal to issue an FPN for it.

I was pulled over last month for the first time in maybe twenty odd years by a police motor bike for "vehicle registration compliance" the plates are BS stamped and totally standard format, but he decided to take a road accident tape measure out to measure the "1 /G" gap.. Totally laughable...hehe He seemd reduclant to to say " there's not a problem this time On your way...!

Bloody joke, I'm sure there are plenty of obviously misrepresented plates he could have been nicking without the need for a ruler. Small wonder the public don't like the plod.

What a dick “this time”. You should’ve said thanks I’m sure it won’t be a problem “next time“ either, since it’s legal.
