Challenge Stradale thread

Apologies I don’t know who he is, but for his apparent age and connections with Ferrari I was amazed by the lack of knowledge of what the CS is all about, especially dribbing around in Strada mode and criticising the gear and throttle responses.
One thing that did stand out though was the grin inducing sounds and senses that the car creates.
Always been one of my favourite cars, couldn’t quite afford one when I got my standard 360 manual.

Guy clearly doesn’t know how to drive a CS! Mines were never that jerky, and I drove mine semi daily in London too! Who’s is that guy?? Both don’t sound like the smartest out there.
Agreed. They are seriously lacking knowledge of a CS and it took the majority of the video to find the race button! No denying the emotions that are evoked by that noise and the proper race car noise of every stone rattling around the wheel arches. Don’t suppose you hear much of either of those in a Pista. And it’s too fast for road driving anyway so can’t understand why anyone wants one.
Took the strad out for a quick spin on Saturday. It was good while it lasted but at one point coming up to traffic lights the engine conked out and the check gearbox light came on. From that point on I could not start it or change gears. I could hear the actuator when I pulled both paddles but not if I pulled one.
Car was towed back to the dealer. I am told it may be the clutch position sensor or there may be some physical damage to the clutch teeth. So my choice is whether to pay 5hrs labour to fit a new sensor or take our the gearbox to check everything with around 16hrs labour. If I just change the sensor though and it does not work I will have to then do the whole gearbox out as well .. Outch!
Anyone had anything similar? I am surprised the diagnostics would not give a better idea of the fault. Also on the back of my mind I wonder if this is something with an easy fix to try ....

Sure its not the F1 Pump?, they are common failure items.

That's most expensive I've seen for an LHD with "normal mileage"https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2004-ferrari-3...

If you look at the US market, prices are going up, there was a lot of talk about this car on F-Chat perhaps that's where this one is going.
Good examples are getting harder to source.
Would love to learn some more about this. RHD has kind of plateaued at the £200k - 225k mark for a good example. With time, there should be a less of a discrepancy between LHD and RHD versions as the car becomes more of an established classic, but the RHD are just rarer.Good examples are getting harder to source.

Nice video. I really enjoyed it and the guys seem quite knowledgable, not only on the cars but also on the set up and feel. Can’t help but think he REALLY wanted it but just couldn’t splash another £200k or take a hit on selling another car to get it. I can definitely empathise … as I would have a scud if I had the cash … although I also have to admit that a 997 GT3RS would also be in the running.

The Scud is a more easier to live with as a DD, the CS is an occasion car. Hence he found his Scud more pleasing. Can’t help but think he REALLY wanted it but just couldn’t splash another £200k or take a hit on selling another car to get it.
