Just settling down to watch FP3 on the WEC app before taking the £5.99 plunge to watch qualy later on tonight lol. Going to follow this season through as already have tickets in hand for Portimao biggrin

Anybody been to Portimao before? Wondering where is best to stay? Portimao or Lagos?

Have a feeling this is going to be a great season even if Toyota are starting outright faves.

There seem to be free Discovery Plus offers for some Sky and Vodaphone customers too.
Thanks for this, just got D+ for free with my phone smile

We stay in Lagos when going for the ELMS, and will be for the WEC, pleasant spot

Thanks Frederic, that was the way we were leaning to be honest. Do you know if there is any way to get to the circuit and back using public transport or will we need a car for the duration?

Cheers

You'll be needing a car, I suppose taxis might be possible, but I've never seen a bus anywhere near

On Discovery+ does anyone know what the difference is between the two versions of WEC on the upcoming events bit?

I think one is Eurosport One and the other is hopefully the ad free stream, hopefully with commentary unlike qualy last night.

Both state 16.30 start though, which should be 15.30

Ah great. I’ll pick the one without the little logo then and hopefully it won’t break for ads! Thanks

Using Vodafone pass for discovery plus doesn’t allow the sports streams. Hahaha.

Well that is very annoying, having paid for access via the app and watching qualy successfully it now won’t connect to the race. Must be a server issue their end so i’ve had to sign up to D+ but I missed the start grrrrr

Just listen to radio le mans and watch the stream, it's better that way =)
Pretty easy to synch it, esp. when hindy is on because he'll periodically do a countdown to the hour or whatever to let people pause and press play at the right time =)

I did for the qualifying, and would if it was the old Eurosport team, but Hindhaugh’s repeated references to his own racing ‘career’ annoy me beyond reason so I stick to the TV comms

He doesn't do it that enough ffs! He simply talks about enjoying driving cars and being very average at it!

Just to add, I can see that Peugeot being replaced by the end of the year they have had over a year to sort it out, this thing has had gearbox issues form the start no matter the track, but on the rolling lap ffs, that is a joke sorry.

The budget they have spent, to still have the same issue, sorry not good enough

So far Toyota are schooling the new guys on how to be quick but to not make silly mistakes.

Catching up on V8 Supercars, watching F1 practice and dipping in and out of WEC this evening has been fun, but it does look like Toyota could dominate this season again. Ferrari do at least seem to have speed out of the box though so we'll see how it goes.

Has the Peugeot just been designed to work at LM and maybe Monza? It's really not coped well with bumps

I think it is clear the blueprint is Toyota and Ferrari, both running very similar setups in terms of drive system, clearly the two fastest cars, Porsche are burning up tyres as the EV only works on the rear and burns them up, Cadillac look a little off the pace in general and the less said about Peugeot the better, that car for me so far is another Nissan fwd.

Fair play to Vandervell it's still running and for a first time out in a very new car that is not bad really.
