I think were due a tough winter, wouldn’t surprise me given many are going to struggle to warm their houses….. hope not though.
Usually I would be praying for a tough winter. Not this year, my energy tarrif is awful so I will be praying for a mild one this year.
I always feel cheated if we don’t get a big snowfall at some point.

Note: on this occasion “here” was Agden Reservoir at Low Bradfield near Sheffield, but to be honest there are 9 or 10 reservoirs within a 10 mile radius of “here” and they’re all worryingly low.

Me too - I love a good dose of snowy weather as much as anyone but I walked out at one of the local reservoirs today and it looks nearly empty. Together with the energy bills I think what we desperately need is a mild and wet winter. Boring, but if it’s a cold, dry one, we’re a bit screwed!

Bizarrely enough Aberdeenshire is at risk of low water levels, again due to drier winters. Note: on this occasion “here” was Agden Reservoir at Low Bradfield near Sheffield, but to be honest there are 9 or 10 reservoirs within a 10 mile radius of “here” and they’re all worryingly low.
Our house is on a spring supply (rather than mains) and we actually ran out for a few days in summer.

Turns out we got just under a foot of wet snow thanks to a Colorado low ( cheers once again Jimmy) , clearing this morning was heavy work but back up to plus 10 come the weekend with sunshine so only did what was needed . Some highways still closed
YW. All we got was our first genuine freeze of the year. Fortunately, not much of one as I texted my sprinkler guy-'When are you doing blowouts this year?'
'I should have told you I moved to Florida'.
I've got a week or so of freezes before the new guy comes round. Ground temp should still be above freezing, hopefully.

We had snow on and off throughout the day here in the Colorado high country, with temperatures starting out at 19f. Looks like more snow later this week as well. 'When are you doing blowouts this year?'

I'm looking forward to spring already.

Here we go again eh .Take it you've drained your manifolds etc ? Should be alright , do ours religiously but still end up replacing various bits come Spring , par for the course I suppose .
Backflow preventer and riser are drained, manifold is boxed in ground, should be fine.jimmyjimjim said:
