If these are anything like the escorts these will be brilliant. What a great idea!
Any idea on cost yet?
Did you read the article? Any idea on cost yet?
It's a copy of the original, specifically designed to be ugly and pointless. It's of an era where rally cars were brutal, and fast. End of story. Lots of people will want to buy one if the price is "reasonable " in the context of similar quality builds to their mk1 and mk2 Escorts.
They've always done ok in the hands of privateer rally enthusiasts since the actual group b era ended, and with the vast increasing prices of original cars it's good a British company with obvious skills has chosen to recreate them.

Everyone minus me. I always thought they were embarrassing piles of dog poop. Appallingly awful contraptions that never worked and when they did vaguely work barely competed.
Rubbish dross.
I'm with you. This is blindingly ugly and pointless. Rubbish dross.

You should write up your driving experience of both. I'd be interested to hear how the two compare. The 6R4 was a donkey in its day and it will be a glorified donkey now
I recall Tony pond was actually very positive about how it drove, despite the engine reliability issues.

would also like Peugeot 205 T16 redone Restomod replica's smal very fast pocket rockets, with a 400+ hp 4cill or V6 RWD with tank in the front low down.
I have a 4wd 205 with T16 body running 600hp and Cossie drive train but WRC underpinnings. It’s a bit too much power to be honest. Ingegnere Enzo said:

At top level it was never the success it could have been, thanks mainly to the fact that its opposition all had turbo engines whose power rocketed every year . But to call it a donkey is both unfair and inaccurate - the 6R4 delighted everybody who saw and heard it in period. Except grumpy old you - you did see it yourself I assume ? It also won a lot of rallies in the UK , and the 700bhp turbo version driven by Will Gollop in Rally Cross was jaw dropping to watch . The 6R4 was a donkey in its day and it will be a glorified donkey now

The car itself was basically goodThe 6R4 was a donkey in its day and it will be a glorified donkey now
The engineering team were great
The BL management were the donkeys.
Never got the development it needed (the Dyno fiasco is well documented, as well as the air filter issues and engine failures) and unfortunately the decision not to go forced induction meant they were left behind in the power wars in the end. Its unfair to call a car a donkey just because it became eclipsed by the DS4 & the T16.
But, in a forest you could hear these coming for miles, Epic experience.
