So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Just renewed my warranty, two more years (Years 5 & 6) on my V12VSM 2018 for £3,508, £1,754 a year. In comparison to some other makes that is comparatively cheap.
Service and MOT due in a couple of weeks, will be another £1,000 I reckon.
I am doing around 3,000 miles a year, so £1 a mile on that stuff + whatever the petrol is.
I am hoping being one of the last ever manual V12's it will be appreciating by more than that, but no plans to sell.
Just bought a V8 Defender 110 (new one) as my new daily, it is even less fuel efficient than the Aston, but given I have driven a Tesla for the last 4 years I have some credit in my green bank and honestly could not spend any more of my life not only waiting to charge but also now waiting for a free charger given how busy they have become.

Booked in my visit to AMW to have the microblister sorted on the roof (all under warranty), and whilst there decided to smash the piggy bank and get the annoying scratches and stone chips sorted on passenger rear 3/4 (occurred prior to my ownership) which have gone from "oh look a scratch" to me going "that should not be there".
They will finally sort the melted coating on the exhaust trim as well as annoyingly the wrong exhaust trim arrived on the last visit when the sun visor was replaced. Chatting with my contact the coating on the trims can be damaged over long journeys or high performance usage due to inconsistent QC. Sadly mine falls in that camp.
All in all minus having to follow up post cockup, superb service and efficient turnaround on decision making by AML (24 hours).
The only thing now is from mid March my baby will be some miles away for a time period.

Must have been a big piggy bank but their paintwork is well worth it. I’ve had accident damage repaired with them on a previous Aston plus then customisation on my GT8.

I sort of semi planned for it, just not now per se. I’ve had accident damage repaired with them on a previous Aston plus then customisation on my GT8.
The biggest frustration is rear script badges they want to replace (I do agree). But they make the total a little higher than anticipated shall we say!

Been a busy bloke this month. Refurbed front and rear lower grills, bonnet and wing vents , mirror stalks, sill trims, door handles , wipers , slam panel and new badges too to name a few bits
Nice work. What did you do for the wipers? The black metal parts on mine are looking a bit tatty, but fortunately hidden by the bonnet when not in use.Simpo Two said:

Too much traffic for anything spirited but it was a nice group. 1x DBS Superleggers 2 x db9 3 x vanquish 1 x db7, 1 x V8 Vantage 1 x Db 2 here is a pic as we wait for a straggler who was caught in traffic.

Not the DB2 straggling I hope? Astontony said:

Your drive reminded me of a video, that was produced at the time of the 4.7 Vantage introduction.
A Coupe and a Roadster visiting a mountain and a dam.
Is that the area you were in ?
Not much traffic for them though.
A well produced video I thought. Exhaust sound not spot on, but the excitement was certainly captured.
Are those two presenters well know in Australia ?

I believe that Alborz chap has been pretty successful with internet car businesses like caradvice and carexpert and went on to buy a vantage of his own. N400 I think? Great video.

Thank you Davil.
In the video, the two cars were going very quickly at times.
Are rural speed limits unrestricted in Australia ?
Years ago in the UK, a Le Mans car was being early morning, pre-race tested on a motorway.
The resulting press coverage caused a stirr! Subsequently an overall 70 mph speed limit began. That later became 60 mph for single carriageway roads.
Enforcement became greater with the advance of electronics and it is reported that some speed detector machines are now milionaires every year. The steady and significant increase in traffic density, has also reduced our traffic speeds.
Fortunately our Aston Martins are still a joy when driving them slowly.
