Has he *really* called it this? And is this *really* the intent?

Where is this detail coming from?
I saw it reported on the early rundown news on sky this morning.

Operation Save Big Dog is hilarious and sad in equal measure - the media were reporting it whilst the very first meeting was apparently taking place. I would have thought Operation Plumber - Fix Those Leaks would be more urgently required!

It was on the telly yesterday evening - can’t recall which channel but a female reporter stood outside saying that Operation Save Big Dog was underway at that very moment. Now what the detail is nobody really knows but reporters normally have some credible source even if they do embellish details. What stunned me is that it had obviously been leaked before the first meeting had either taken place or finished.
Herein lies a problem for all of us...

This could just be everyone reporting one throwaway comment by someone not involved. But because it's on telly, or in the Independent, he must have said it.

Maybe he did (and if he did, then he's a bigger tit than ever). Some will note that us being unsure is a problem in itself...but not if the majority of crap that gets bandied around has similar origins.

I don't think the leaks are that surprising.

Downing Street Staff Feel Dejected By Boris Johnson’s Party Defence

The Government have been happy to use them when it suits to gauge public reaction to proposed announcements.

Loyalty is a two way street and if you were one of those who may be sacrificed at the altar of Johnson would you feel much loyalty?
It's clear through most of his premiership that loyalty both ways hasn't been especially high on the agenda smile

Two years until the next election and four years after that at present rates would make it add up to at least volume 32.

This was from the start of Vol. 3..

This is not volume 3, I mean its more like volume 1, or a bit like a new volume. I will be dead in a ditch before there is a volume 5.

Come to think of it I have not seen this poster recently... hehe

Small aside but Neville announced a couple of days ago that he's joined the Labour Party.

Speculation around a possible run for Mayor of Manchester which he hasn't ruled out.

Bless MrrT and his predictions. Mystic Meg he is not.

(I fully expect there is some sort of nuance/semantic glitch that means that particular prediction is null and void or not yet met - maybe he has his "pages per thread set at 400,000 or something?).

Well who wouldn't feel dejected? They used to have a lovely walk in fridge to store their Friday afternoon tipples in. Boris waltzes in, chucks all their booze out, so he can cower inside it and replaces it with some crappy half height jobbie.

He also predicted the fall of London as a major financial centre with all the good jobs going to the EU and no aeroplanes flying over the UK after Brexit. rofl

I wasn't making any statement of support or not of this "news*, just where I heard it. I think the original source sky noted was the Mirror.

He’s lasted to volume 8 which is longer than many of us thought. hehe

Anyone want to start the thread with predictions about how long he’ll last?
He hasn't lasted to volume 8, he's created 8 volumes of lies and deceit for us to analyse! biggrin

I wonder if there will be one member still posting relentlessly years after he has left office, keeping the thread on the top page. hehe

Hardly a defence but who would be any more worthy of the position?

What would the benefit be for the country?

Hopefully not until volume 9.

Stories of "Operation Save Big Dog" where apparently he's drawing up a list of officials who will resign in a bid to save him.

He's lied to the country he's lied to Parliament and No 10 have had to apologise to the Queen for partying the night before she sat alone whilst her husband was being buried.

How anyone can look at what's gone on and still stick up for him is absolutely beyond me.

Disgusting.
Completely agree

How can anyone think this is ok as an example to lead our country?

It's not as though he's even that good at anything, apart from connecting with the common halfwit thru the Churchill tribute thing he does

Perhaps we wouldn't as a country, have turned a corner in which the law didn't apply to the rulers?

Read up about the Magna Carta. And why it's so famous.

How long do people need to isolate for now if their mum's neighbour's best friend's dog had Covid ?

Should we expect the rules to be changed imminently - with maybe a week or two added ?
