Saw an original 6R4 in a service area off the A1M the other day. Still looks stunning.

One person's "hideously ugly", is another person's "brutally insane and effective perfection".

I've borderline zero interest in "pretty" Pebble Beach Dusenbergs, Bugatti Atlantiques, and most form over function creations.

Gimme "ugly" motorsport homologation beauties like 6R4s, Sierra RS500s, IMSA Audi 90s, over anything pretty.

I'm also a sucker for a flared arch, or weird model specific feature. Subtle stuff like the wider track of a Mercedes 500E, unique mirrors on an E36 M3 or RS 964, and even the most humble of bonnet bulges on the Peugeot 205 automatics.

It takes all sorts at the end of the day wink
It certainly does - I take the precaution of loving 6R4's and Bugatti Atlantics'

What a great idea.

The 6R4 is a cracking road car - I used one as a company ‘run-about’ back in those great days of Group B.

Noisy. Uncomfortable. Cramped. Properly in your face in its ComputerVision livery.

And so much fun on the road.

All I need now is £100k!!!!!

would also like Peugeot 205 T16 redone Restomod replica's smal very fast pocket rockets, with a 400+ hp 4cill or V6 RWD with tank in the front low down.
I have a 4wd 205 with T16 body running 600hp and Cossie drive train but WRC underpinnings. It’s a bit too much power to be honest.
now we are talking biggrin
600hp sounds indeed a bit much for such small light car , maybe you can tune it down a bit in a way you get les turbo-lag (no idea if you have such in your set up) and a more reliable set-up, also for the drive-train.
I guess 500-550hp is still 'fine' to get some thrills and getting a bit pushed back in the seat.
I have a low boost map that was designed to feel like a normally aspirated engine, that is 405hp and feels much tamer.

The turbo is quite small and twin scroll so there isn’t a lot of lag, the new engine is over 2.2l so should spool up very quickly.

One of my friends has a genuine WRC escort Cossie, I think he may have just placed an order for the 6r4.

My brothers neighbour has an original 6R4, he paid something like £30k for it quite a few years back and he uses it on the road too.

If I had £300k to buy one of these I'd take their arm off!

There used to be a blue and white one near me (near Headley), it was used on the road and he had it advertised for 44k with a spare engine…I think that sold in the 30’s.

Might be the same one, I'll try to remember to ask him next time I see him.

I'm with you on this. The 6R4 must be an ultimate exoression of the function driving the form.

My hats off to MST for doing this. I see them on LinkedIn a lot with their escorts. Given the choice which I almost certainly won't get, I'd have one of their escorts!!

Not that long ago - 2006 on the Harry Flatters Rally - 4 minutes of flat out.
My good friend Dave calling the notes - That'll do...

Seems like an awful lot of money for something that will never be a 6R4. Surely part of the fun of one is driving something with the history of those 220 cars.

God, that sounds good!

Fond memories of standing in various Cumbrian forests during the Group B era.

Indri followed it up with that superb Darrian. Disappointing Subaru. Mitsubishi Mirage R5 now.

Rubbish dross.
I'm with you. This is blindingly ugly and pointless.
With you both. Never liked them either.
