There's lies and then thes HUGE WHOPPING LIES...

Heres Giuliani claimimg that when he went to take his trip to Ukraine to manufacture dirt against Biden, George Soros drove a car out onto the airport tarmac chasing after his plane to try and block it from taking off.

An elderly lion is quite an apt comparison for Trump. Spends most of his day sitting around doing nothing, relies on everyone else to do the actual work and occasionally gets up to strut around, show off how strong he thinks he still is with pointless displays that no one cares about, and sexually harass any females in sight.

I used to read this thread every day. Sometimes several times a day, but I have become completely disheartened by the whole thing. I don’t think America, allegedly the greatest country on earth, has the power to hold this person to account let alone the will.
This, sadly.

I posted on this thread well over 12 months ago that I didn’t think any meaningful justice would ever be served on Trump. He won’t ever see the inside of a prison cell, and he certainly won’t be financially punished to the point where he’s living in a grotty rented apartment and eating $1.99 frozen pizzas from Walmart.

It will be be an endless merry-go-round of complex cases, lawsuits, and appeals. He will have a never ending stream of new lawyers eager to go to work for him, despite them knowing full well they will probably get thrown under the bus or never paid. The cache of such a high profile client, however scummy, will be too much for them to resist.

He will live out the rest of his days eating chef cooked food, from gaudy gold plates, in his gaudy gold mansion, passing the time playing golf in ill-fitting clothing, whilst firing off a few Tweets here and there to rake in a bit more cash from his gullible supporters.

Even if he is hit hard financially, various millionaire/billionaire weirdos will crawl out of the woodwork to give him ‘loans’ of $10m, $20m etc, for reasons known only to themselves, as often happens with people like Trump.

Some of his lackeys, associates, employees, and former lawyers will take the fall, one by one, but he will remain untouched, and his personal lifestyle will roll on unaffected.

As a Judge said to Krusty the Clown in The Simpsons in 1996 “Krusty, this is America. We don’t send our rich and famous to jail”. That societal observation was made 27 years ago, and things have only gotten worse since.

I still read this thread from time to time as it is an excellent resource, a useful timeline, and good way to read the latest news in one place, but I have never believed that actual justice will be served at any sort of punitive level, either to Trump of any of his family members.

I think you are probably right in what you write. Most of us probably feel the same way. Even Byker has said something similar (I think).

Pretty much my thoughts for the last year has changed to he won't be jailed, but they'll be a constant attack on his finances, which actually would be better? In jail he'll be seen as a martyr to the cause, as Marge is trying to do to the maga mob jailed.

No money means trump will end up just as a sad old man grifting, in what with his health, is probably his last decade?

Actually, trumps had to pay lawyers lately, well his Save America PAC has. Corcoran filings showed he was paid up front by trump, Kise had that $3m up front payment, trumps FEC filings show he's been paying huge sums to his lawyers firms.
$10m from his pac in the last year, thats only going to ramp up

Marge is getrting her high profile trip to the magamob jailed members on Friday
https://twitter.com/jordainc/status/16332529617060...

She's complaining about their conditions, but they are getting better treatment and special privileges - but expect Marge to make many lies...
Marge is visiting those convicted or accused of multiple serious crimes, that she calls patriots.

Mannafort, Flynn, Roger Stone, Bannon, Elliot Broidy (GOP and trump fundraiser and chinese money conduit to trump),
Paul Erickson the boyfriend of russian agent Maria Butina, who funnelled money from the russians through the NRA to trump and the GOP. Erickson didn't have to pay the $3m fine, Mannafort got off his $40m fine,

Basically witnesses against trumps crimes...

plus of course anyone trump could get paid for pardonning - with Giuliani acting as go between for the one step removal for trump

A friend of mine is criminal trial lawyer in New York. He reckons that Trump won't go to jail because he poses a substantial risk to national security, so he'll be under house arrest.

Rosenbergs were deemed to pose a threat to national security - didn't end well. That said, I can't see trump serving a sentence behind bars, unfortunately. He's done more damage than Julius & Ethel ever attempted ( or not).

I suspect Bill Barr was involved there as they both knew a lot of secrets of even more wealthy and powerful people.

And the link is... Roy Cohn! Self loathing criminal scumbag acting high and mighty.

Trump will never see a jail cell.

I wonder if the urgency over the documents case is because he potentially still has classified material. Wouldn't be a surprise at all.

Good! I'm pleased it is actually costing him money!

Well yes, there have been plenty, and for other crimes as well if you look at wealthy/famous people like Bernie Madoff, but my more general point is that if you are wealthy, have a lot of resources, teams of lawyers, political influence, and the cases are complex, it could be decades before anything meaningful happens.

You would think for some of things Trump did he could be shoved into court tomorrow and banged up for at least 12 months, but we all know it isn't going to happen sadly.
